General Motors today confirmed the 2024 Equinox EV will start at $34,995 when it hits dealers later this year. With a stellar 319-mile range, it’s a compelling new option for buyers looking for an EV under $40,000.GM first announced the Equinox EV in the fall of 2022. At that time, GM promised it would be “around $30,000.” Though it’s now $5,000 more than expected, GM partially made up for it with the higher-than-expected range.The Equinox lost eligibility for the $7,500 federal EV tax credit this year due to two “minor,” foreign-sourced components, but GM expects it, along with the Blazer and Silverado EVs, to regain eligibility by the end of this year. None of those models are on the government’s official list as of this writing, though the temporarily discontinued Chevrolet Bolt EV and Bolt EUV are there.GM will offer five trim options for the Equinox, with prices up to $46,795, according to InsideEVs.
