I recently had a professional color analysis with a certified stylist, and the results were surprising! I was classified as a true winter, meaning my skin has a cool undertone and vibrant, high-intensity colors are the most complimentary to my natural coloring. After my consultation, I wanted to find budget friendly winter color season makeup for those who share my season to lean on for looks that will make you shine!
Eyeshadow for Winter Skin Tones:
ColourPop Blue Velvet Palette – This 9-pan palette features striking blues that will compliment the high contrast coloring of winter skin tones. It has a mix of mattes, shimmers and glitters that you can use for super dramatic and colorful looks, or just a small pop by using the navy tones as smoky liner.
Morphe Lunarious Power Multi-Effects Palette – It can be difficult finding cool toned neutral eyeshadow palettes, but this one’s a hit from Morphe. Most of these shades fit well within the dark winter color season. You get a rich black and stark white, along with cool taupes and browns with silvery gray and champagne.
Milani Gilded Eyeshadow Stick in Blossom – For an easy one-and-done eyeshadow, this silvery pink is easy to blend all over the lid and adds a subtle glow to the eyes for a go-to every day look.
Eyeliner for Winter Skin Tones:
essence Stay & Play Gel Eyeliner in Black Raven & Emerald Dragon – These are my most-worn eyeliner pencils because of how rich and pigmented they are. Black Raven is an intense, deep black that looks great smoked out. Emerald Dragon is a jewel toned emerald green that really pops on the skin.
Blush for Winter Skin Tones:
Pixi On-the-Glow Blush Stick in Ruby – You may have seen this viral blush on social media- it’s a cross between a cream and gel blush that melts into the skin and leaves a dewy, radiant finish with a ton of color. Ruby is a cool red, almost pink shade that’s buildable from sheer to vibrant.
e.l.f. Luminous Putty Blush in St. Barts – St. Barts is a medium berry that has a built-in highlight with both the shimmer in the shade and the dewy finish. While this one glows, it looks less wet than the Pixi blush.
Lipstick for Winter Skin Tones:
e.l.f. Glossy Lip Stain in Berry Queen – If you love a low maintenance, all day lip, this stain is for you! Berry Queen is a cool purple berry that fades to a deep fuchsia.
ColourPop Ultra Blotted Lip in Attention PLZ – True and cool winters can pull off a bright, Barbie pink like Attention PLZ from ColourPop. The Ultra Blotted Lip formula is slightly sheer, so the color is not overpowering.
Milani Color Fetish Matte Lipstick in Poppy – A true blue-toned red, Poppy from Milani is my favorite red lipstick! The cool, vivid shade is a year round favorite and bonus points: it makes my teeth look super white!
