According to recent reports, Google will launch at least three new Pixel smartphones in its October hardware unveiling event. Instead of the usual, the company will launch three new Pixel smartphones: the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and 9 Pro XL. There are rumors about the Pixel Fold 2 being renamed to Pixel 9 Pro Fold so that it will join these three smartphones. While the attention goes towards the return of the “Pixel XL” series, the vanilla Pixel 9 Pro will be the biggest change here. The successor of the Pixel 8 Pro is the 9 Pro XL, while the 9 Pro will be a smaller device with the same upgrades seen in Pro smartphones. Today, a new set of leaked images shows the compact device in all its glory.

Pixel 9 Pro – The Compact Pixel flagship emerges
The 9 Pro leaked in hands-on images. One of these images shows the device next to an iPhone 15 Pro, and judging by the images, Google managed to make it a little smaller than Apple’s compact flagship. The leaked images also show a new design for the camera, and it protrudes significantly when compared to previous Pixel smartphones.

Gone is the “visor” design seen in past Pixel smartphones. This time around, we have a traditional camera bump. It has an oval shape that does not go all the way to the edges. The 9 Pro also has a flat polished frame.

The 9 Pro will be equipped with a Tensor G4 chipset and 16 GB of RAM made by Micron. It has 4 GB More when compared to the Pixel 9 Pro. Furthermore, the device has a UFS storage tech developed by Samsung. This time around, Google isn’t holding back and will impress with the hardware of the Pixel smartphone. The new flagship is also expected to come with Samsung’s Exynos Modem 5400 with support for satellite connectivity.

It is also worth noting that the 9 Pro is much rounder than previous Pixel smartphones. So this is another change in the design language for the smartphone series. Finally, the display has slim bezels with a centered punch-hole selfie camera. We expect more details to appear soon as Google Pixel smartphones tend to leak months before their release. This leak, for example, shows the 9 Pro six months ahead of its release. More leaks will certainly appear in the coming months.
