I have some sad news to share.
Grits passed away a couple weeks ago.
We found out earlier on this year that he had a few different diseases and that we likely only had a few months left with him. Learning of his diseases was difficult, but in a way I’m glad I had a few months to really cherish him before he passed.
If you follow along on Instagram, you know that Grits was always around. He was my little shadow, and often made himself quite present by meowing at me. He slept with me each night, he followed me from room to room as I said goodnight to my kids, and truly was the ideal lap cat!
I miss him terribly!
This is the first time in 15 years that I haven’t had a cat, and it’s lonely. I imagine we will get another cat or two, likely kittens, but I’m not sure when I’ll be ready for that.
