Apple Pay is not working for some Chase customers today. According to The Verge, those attempting to use their Chase cards via Apple Pay have had their cards declined, while the physical version of the same card works fine.

According to Apple’s system status page, Apple Pay and Apple Wallet have been under maintenance since noon today. That page page notes that users in Maryland might have issues; however, users across the country have reported running into issues.The Verge notes: ” For what it’s worth, the Chase customer service line is currently up to 15-minute wait times, and agents are telling people that Apple Pay is ‘going through maintenance’ to receive ‘an unexpected upgrade,’ which is a delightful euphemism. Sadly, no one seems to know when things will be fixed.”

The issue appears to only be impacting Chase customers. User of other types of cards appear to not be impacted. For now, we have a rundown on how to change your default card on Apple Pay.
