Apple’s Vision Pro starts at a whopping $3,499, and it turns out the headset isn’t cheap to repair. If you crack the Vision Pro’s glass cover, expect to pay $799 to get it fixed, according to Apple’s website, which has been updated to list the product’s repair costs. The same page also estimates it can cost up to $2,399 to fix other kinds of accidental damage to the device.The high cost isn’t exactly a surprise. Apple has a reputation for charging high repair fees for MacBooks and iPhones, although the company managed to lower the costs for fixing the back glass on the iPhone 15 Pro models.

Vision Pro buyers can drastically lower the repair fee if they purchase AppleCare+, the company’s extended warranty program. But again, it isn’t cheap. The company is charging consumers a one-time $499 fee, or $24.99 per month, for AppleCare+ with a Vision Pro headset, which will only protect the product for another two years.In return, buyers still need to pay to fix their Vision Pro headset if an issue crops up. But the repair fee maxes out at $299 for each service event, according to the terms and conditions. In addition, the AppleCare+ offers buyers 24/7 customer support, including for software issues.

Apple is preparing to charge the high repair fees when it’s already imposing a premium for the various accessories to the Vision Pro. As the company kicked off pre-orders today, Apple’s website also revealed the official traveling case for the headset costs $199. Still, it looks like some Apple fans are willing to overlook the high costs to nab the cutting-edge technology. The company’s website currently shows that pre-orders for the Vision Pro won’t ship until March 8-15, or more than a month after the product launches on Feb. 2.
