After much anticipation, the biggest mobile show of the year happened in the form of the Mobile World Congress 2024 (MWC 2024). The show brought a wide array of new Android smartphones, unique gadgets, AI, and much more. Even Google took the opportunity to launch new Android and Gemini (AI) features. In this article, we will discuss some of the most interesting products that appeared during the Mobile World Congress. These products go from Android smartphones to interesting solutions in the field of technology. There are also new interesting wearables and other products that managed to steal our attention during the final days of February.
The Best of MWC 2024
In this article, we will discuss the best products revealed during the MWC 2024. Perhaps, you have noticed devices that looked more interesting in your opinion. So feel free to share your thoughts with us. Without further ado, let’s dive into the most interesting tech.
Honor Magic 6 Pro – Honor’s New Flagship with Innovative Battery Tech
Honor led one of the biggest events at the Mobile World Congress 2024. The Chinese smartphone maker brought an interesting array of new announcements during the MWC 2024. The Honor Magic6 Pro was the big star of the show as the company’s new flagship to compete in the global market. However, the company also took the opportunity to tease a new Porsche Design variant for its new flagship. Furthermore, it brought the Honor Magic V2 RSR to global markets.
The Honor Magic6 Pro is a solid flagship set to compete in global markets like Europe. Like most flagships, the phone is equipped with the excellent Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 with up to 16 GB of RAM. The phone is equipped with a 6.8-inch LTPO OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and 2,800 x 1,280 pixels of resolution. The panel is covered with Jurhino Glass and has 1600 nits of brightness and 5000 nits of peak brightness.
Honor marketed its new Android 14-based MagicOS 8 brought an array of Generative AI technologies. The Honor Magic6 Pro thanks to its robust hardware is packed with multiple AI features. The device also has a robust camera. It has a 50 MP OIS camera, a 180 MP periscope telephoto shooter with 2.5x optical zoom, and a 50 MP ultrawide camera. A 50 MP camera handles selfies and video calls with a ToF 3D sensor for depth.
The Honor Magic6 Pro has Wi-Fi 7, Stereo Speakers, and Bluetooth 5.3. However, one of its greatest highlights was also the second generation of Honor’s silicon-carbon battery. It exchanges the regular graphite anode in lithium-ion batteries for one made of silicon carbon. This allows the company to put more energy in the same physical space, allowing for an impressive 5,600 mAh battery. The phone also has an 80W fast charging. It’s pretty hard to draw out the entire power of this smartphone.

Lenovo ThinkBook Transparent Display Laptop Concept
The MWC usually serves as a good spot for the unveiling of the weird tech. In this particular field, Lenovo did a great job by bringing an interesting product for the MWC 2024. The device in question was a laptop dubbed Lenovo ThinkBook Transparent Display Laptop Concept. It’s an interesting concept of product, and if you’ve been seeing Cyberpunk movies in the past years you will probably see it as the arrival of a new era with transparent displays. While having a transparent display doesn’t make it more useful than a regular product, it’s hard to deny that it doesn’t look very cool.
The display is cool by showing the OS and also anything on the other side. The issues are in the design choices taken by Lenovo. For example, Lenovo decided to equip it with a touchscreen keyboard instead of a physical keyboard, which makes it look like a dual-screen device.
We don’t know yet if there is much usefulness for such a laptop. Depending on the place you’re using, that display transparency can become very awkward. Perhaps, the final product could have a way to adjust the transparency to remove it completely when you need a more immersive use. That, of course, if this product becomes a thing. For now, it’s just a concept and only time will tell if Lenovo will make it a commercial product. It looks more interesting than Motorola’s flexible wristwatch display.
Nubia Flip 5G – Flip Smartphones Become Affordable
Foldable smartphones are cool and all, but they’re hard for the masses with their usually expensive price. We have been waiting for the day when foldable smartphones will finally make it into the mid-range segment. Last year, Motorola introduced the $700 Motorola Razr with a flip design. Now, Nubia is taking one important step to make these devices more appealing to the mid-range consumer.
The Nubia Flip 5G arrives at the MWC 2024 as a mid-range foldable smartphone. It carries the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1. The device has a 6.9-inch folding display and a 4,310 mAh battery. That’s a decent battery considering the challenges in the design of a flip smartphone. It’s also lightweight with a bigger 1.43-inch OLED external display that is limited to calendar widgets and selfie-taking.
The Nubia Flip 5G has a 50 MP PDAF main camera and a 2 MP depth sensor. Nubia cut the corners in the camera as there is no ultrawide shooter in this smartphone. By the way, there is a 16 MP selfie shooter in the inner display.
The phone has stereo speakers. Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, NFC, and a 4,310 mAh battery with 33W fast charging. The Nubia Flip 5G costs $600 which is a remarkable price for a device in this category.
OnePlus Watch 2 – Dual-Chipset Design Makes Wonders on Battery Life
OnePlus is aiming to compete with the big ones in the wearable segment. The Chinese brand brought an interesting smartwatch to the market in the form of the OnePlus Watch 2. The OnePlus Watch 2 is the company’s first to run WearOS. However, it also brings RTOS which is the company’s native solution. It’s an interesting dual-OS wearable that uses the best of the two OS to offer a unique experience to users. The device has access to tons of apps on the Google Play Store. It includes heavy-hitters like Google Maps and Spotify.
The device also uses a dual-chipset architecture to deliver battery life. It was something common to find on popular simpler fitness trackers or watches like Garmin. It’s the first Wear OS watch to last more than four days on a single charge which is always on display active.
Gizchina News of the week
Samsung Galaxy Ring – The Rise of a New Wearable Category?
Samsung teased an interesting product dubbed the Samsung Galaxy Ring during the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S24 in January. At the Mobile World Congress 2024, Samsung shared more key details and properly debuted the new wearable.
As much as this award is for Samsung, we’re also mostly excited about such a major name joining the burgeoning fitness category. Smart rings aren’t particularly new, but we’ve yet to see a brand like Samsung launch itself in this category. It’s the result of intensive work of fitting fitness and sleep-tracking technology into a device that wraps around the finger.
The Galaxy Ring is sleek and lighter than the competition. Samsung will sell it in three colors: Gold, Silver, and Black. It’s unclear when exactly you’ll be able to buy the Galaxy Ring, plus we don’t know how much this gadget will cost.
Tecno Pocket GO and AR Pocket Vision
Tecno presented an interesting device at the MWC 2024 dubbed Tecno’s Pocket Go. It combines an AR headset with a PC built into a controller for a unique gaming experience. The device is different from everything Tecno presented in the past months. Now, the company dives in the AR segment with the Pocket Go. Rather than trying to undercut an existing product, the new headset combines two core ideas into an interesting device.
The Pocket Go is powered by AMD’s Ryzen 8840HS processor, paired with a Ryzen 780M graphics card that should be powerful enough to play relatively recent AAA games at low or even medium graphics settings without breaking a sweat. The display embedded into the glasses sounds small. There are two 0.71-inch micro OLED screens, but they’re capable of projecting the equivalent of a 215-inch display.
Xiaomi 14 Ultra
Xiaomi 14 Ultra is the latest flagship smartphone but it’s not the most innovative. It repeats the last year’s Xiaomi 13 Ultra hardware with some interesting advantages. For example, it has the newer Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and an all-new 1-inch LYT-900 sensor with variable aperture. The Xiaomi 14 Ultra claims itself as the best camera phone on the market in 2024. The device has a quad-curved display that delivers great aesthetics and usability with a comfortable hand feel. It was one of the spotlights of the MWC 2024.
Motorola Flexible Display or WristWatch Smartphone

Motorola is seriously trying to be different with this one. Motorola’s Adaptive Dispaly concept shows a smartphone that can bend into almost anything you need to be. Interestingly, the device was showcased as something like a wristwatch smartphone. Want to use it as a smartphone? You can. Want to use it like a smartwatch? Yes, you can. The device features a 6.9-inch Full HD+ pOLED display. It’s a promising product, but at the same time, it looks like a gimmick. It’s not a foldable or a rollable phone. It can just bend. The technology, of course, looks interesting and we expect to see something in the future coming out of this concept. It was certainly an interesting product revealed at the MWC 2024.
Humane AI Pin
The Humane AI Pin is an interesting multi-modal AI embodied in an interesting smart device that you could pin to your shirt. And we were finally able to see the tech during the MWC 2024.

You can combine voice control with the visual UI of a downright futuristic Laser Ink display that’s projected onto your hand. You can control the Humane AI Pin for a focused set of functions that feels like an absolute breeze, and I could see myself making calls and enriching my day-to-day with this device.
In my mind, the Humane AI Pin won’t replace your smartphone. The company is pitching the product as this, however, this will hardly replace smartphones. It’s just a cool accessory that can extend the experience.
Conclusion – MWC 2024 Brought Very Interesting Tech
This year’s MWC brought a set of interesting products. From the most advanced smartphones to unique and relatively new concepts. We are excited to see these products becoming a reality in the upcoming year. At the same time, the launch of products like the Honor Magic6 Pro and Xiaomi 14 Ultra reinforce the use of AI technology in the smartphone field. We were also excited to see one of the first cost-friendly foldable smartphones in the form of the Nubia Flip 5G. The Galaxy Ring also represents the entrance of big tech in the field of smart rings as fitness trackers.
