Canon Brings New Image Stabilization Update To Its PowerShot V10

[ad_1]

If you’re the owner or user of a Canon Powershot V10 vlogging camera, then its new update to improve its image stabilization is good news.
The Powershot V10 is probably Canon’s first ever exclusively video production and live vlogging camera so far introduced and has been available since mid-2023.
The V in its name stands for, maybe you guessed it, “video communication” (not vlogging.) and it’s a reasonably robust camera model for its low price.
Soon, it will be capable of delivering even better video. The upcoming free firmware update will give the compact camera an updated algorithm for stronger image stabilization according to Canon.
Since the camera was specifically designed for being used in the field and on the go, often in ways that might involve some shaky shooting, an image stabilization improvement would certainly be a welcome addition.
Canon adds,
“Content creators know that some of the most exciting moments to capture happen while in movement. The update will optimize and improve image stabilization performance for shooting while walking, helping to create beautiful visuals even in unstable positions or shooting with one hand extended,”
Furthermore, according to the company, creators can choose to activate and modify the V10’s Image Stabilization (IS) setting based on what they’re filming.
Both the “On” and “Enhanced” settings in the IS have been augmented with this new firmware and the update now better corrects both minor and serious blur in video.

Canon’s sample footage of the improved image stabilization at work demonstrates how it improves video and also reveals how the Enhanced image stabilization works: by cropping into the center of a frame to further stabilize footage.
Canon will be releasing the new firmware as of late June of this year.
The V10 vlogging camera may not be typical of Canon’s production roster but it offers decent performance and specs for its job.
The compact, easy-to-carry device features a 20.9MP Type 1 sensor (though only 15.3 megapixels are usable for still photos) and a 19mm f/2.8 prime lens. It can shoot live video in 1080p resolution at 60fps and in 4K resolution at 30 frames.
The V10 is also very affordably priced, making it a decent vlogging camera at a good price, and easily usable for beginners compared to many other vlogging devices on the market.
