FilmConvert has just released a new profile for the DJI Mini 4 drone. This profile can be used to enhance the color grading of videos through FilmConvert Nitrate color grading software or for camera matching with other camera footage through the CineMatch software.
The fourth generation Mini Pro drone from DJI has been redesigned with a 1/1.3 inch 48MP camera sensor that offers improved performance through dual native ISO and extended battery life.
Despite these enhancements, the drone still weighs just 249 grams, keeping it under the FAA’s limit for mandatory registration.

A Cinematic UAV
Equipped with an f/1.7 aperture lens, the camera can record 10-bit 4K HDR video at up to 60 frames per second in DJI’s D-Log M, or Hybrid Log Gamma.
The camera can capture over 1.07 billion colors, which appear more natural and without color banding. Additionally, the gimbal array can flip on its vertical edge, supporting social media-centric vertical video.

DJI has optimized color grading control in post-production, which can be fully leveraged by FilmConvert when dialing in the preferred color gamut and image quality.
Through the application of the new Mini 4 Pro profile, Film Nitrate can then apply a desired film stock emulation, achieving a particular film look with cinematic grain, and providing greater accuracy when color grading.
When using multiple camera platforms, achieving a homogeneous impression across footage can be challenging. CineMatch can take the emulation profile of the Mini 4 Pro and match it with other camera platforms through the use of sensor matching technology, which aligns the color values of the camera’s uncompressed Log footage.
Users can then use RAW-like controls for adjustment of exposure, white balance, and tint, to apply primary corrections or for final tweaks.

Downloading and installation
Before using FilmConvert Nitrate or Cinematch, users must ensure that they have the right system requirements. These software programs require macOS 10.15 or later, and in Creative Cloud, they are compatible with After Effects or Premiere Pro CC 2018 or later that support the Metal API and Apple Silicon.
If you’re looking to use the DJI Mini 4 Pro Drone profile, you can download and install it through the FilmNitrate plugin camera pack downloader.
It’ll show up in a camera drop-down list that you can select and install, after which you’ll need to restart your video editor.
Make sure you’re using the latest version of the Nitrate plugin, which can be found on the FilmConvert Nitrate Support website. Installing the latest plugin should also bring the latest profiles along with it.
If you’re a CineMatch user, the process is a bit more involved. You’ll need to download and install the latest version of the CineMatch software, which will give you access to all available camera packs and profiles.
