How NARS Orgasm Edge Talc-Free Powder Blush Looks On My Cheeks

[ad_1]

NARS Orgasm Edge Talc-Free Powder Blush is a new matte shade of the beloved and cult-favorite shade Orgasm. I’m pretty sure everyone has been waiting forever for NARS to finally release Orgasm in a shimmer-free formula and we’re finally getting that with NARS Orgasm Edge. I wasn’t going to pick this up as I love Orgasm as it is and I do prefer shimmer finish blushes but I decided what the heck, why not, I’ll try it. Just a heads up but with this new Talc-Free formula the original Orgasm shade is a lot different than it once was. So, if you do love the shade and it’s available to you at a department store you might want to grab a backup as the shade has changed!
As for Orgasm Edge, well, it’s not really a peachy pink as described by NARS but the application does surprise!

NARS has completely revamped the entire Powder Blush Collection and reformulated the blush! They also removed a bunch of a shades and added some new ones! The blush is $34 and 0.17 oz in size. It’s been a while but I believe the original blushes were $30 and 0.16 oz so the price hasn’t increased dramatically and the size didn’t go down thankfully.
If you’re wondering why NARS decided to reformulated and why they removed talc I can’t be exactly sure. I do know in recent years a few brands of makeup have tested positive for asbestos as talc can be contaminated with it. In NARS case, I’m not sure if they are just taking extra precaution or they have had an incident where this happened. I can’t confirm any of this but as of now the old blushes are gone and these new Talc-Free ones are here to stay. I only have the one shade and finish to try so please take this review with a grain of salt as the shimmer finish may perform differently than the matte ones.
The blushes are now housed in a black square compact without the rounded edges the old blushes had. The compact still has a little bit of a rubber feel to it but it isn’t the rubberized case we know and hate. The old cases were a magnetic for dirt, powder, makeup and everything and anything gross. They were impossible to keep clean. The new compact does collect a bit of dirt and powder but isn’t nearly as bad as the original compacts and they do wipe cleaner a little easier than the old ones.

Orgasm Edge is a muted warm almost orange-y peach in the pan. It doesn’t look like the peachy pink shade of the original shimmer shade at all in my opinion! The lack of shimmer makes it look rather dry and chalky. It’s surprisingly soft and silky though and it applied quite easily on my cheeks but it does look sort of dry in my swatch! This lacks the golden peachiness of the original shade but it does give cheeks a very pretty pinch of peach that does in fact look like Orgasm (just without the shimmer). It is surprising as although, it looks a bit off in the pan but on my cheeks (and in my swatches) it’s what you’d expect a shimmer-free version of Orgasm to look like. It’s pretty but a bit flat. I miss the shimmer but if you enjoy a matte finish and like peach shades I think you’ll love it. I heard some complaints about the wear time and the blushes fading fast. I had no issues with this. I put the color on in the AM and went through a ten hour day without it fading. It remained fresh and beautiful on my cheeks.
NARS Orgasm Edge Talc-Free Powder Blush is pretty and the shimmer-free finish will be a win if you prefer a more matte blush! Anyone try it or see it in person? What do you think of this shade?
