This is how you can easily do a scrapbook-style photo phone case. Feel free to add any other creative touches you like to make your phone look unique!
Step 1
The first thing you need to do is pick the photograph you want to use. It doesn’t need to be a final decision as the design I’m going to show you lets you swap pictures easily.
Once you know which photo you want, you need to resize it to fit the phone case. You can use any photo editing program to do this or one of the many online resources.
In my case, the photo needs to be 3.5″ x 2.5″ (8.9 x 6.3 cm) because I want it to be big. This way, it will be the focal point of the design.
However, the best size for you will depend on the size of the phone and the design you want to do.
Regardless of the size, remember to keep the resolution at 300 ppi. Then, send it to print.
Step 2
Now, put the phone case on top of the color card stock and trace its border.
By the way, you can use another type of paper that’s rigid enough to hold the picture and decorations – it’s up to you.
You can also use a patterned paper instead of a solid color. I chose a solid color because I want the scrapbook decorations to stand out. If I were to use a patterned paper, it would look too busy.
Anyway, trace the edge of the phone case and cut it. Because the trace is from the outside of the case, it will be slightly bigger than the size you need to fit it inside. So, you might have to trim the edges a little bit.
Step 3
Now, fit the card stock inside the phone case and make sure it’s the right size.
Then, trace all the windows it needs – this will depend on the design of your phone. You might just need the window for the camera, but it may also have one for the fingerprint recognition.
Once you’ve traced all the windows, take out the card stock and cut them out. You can use an X-acto knife or a pair of scissors – whichever you find more comfortable.
Step 4
Now you have the base for your photo phone case. You can use this as a template to cut out different color card stocks or papers to change the style of your phone any time you want.

However, let’s get back to this one. Since it’s a photo phone case, the most important element is the photo – so we’ll start there.
There are different ways to paste the photo onto the card stock. If you want it to be discreet, you can use double-sided tape. Alternatively, you can print your photo on sticker paper.
I prefer to use photo corners. This is because it allows me to change the photo as often as I want. Also, I’ll use colorful corners because I’m going with a scrapbook look where the noticeable corners fit perfectly.
Step 5
Next, decorate the rest of the card stock to your taste. I’m using stickers from a scrapbooking kit I had. However, you can draw on it, add glitter, or anything you like.
Step 6
Insert the card stock inside the phone case. Then, put it on your phone and you’re good to go!
