Now, the company is gearing up to give older Galaxy phone users a taste of AI. Samsung has announced that Galaxy AI features will be available on some older models, including the Galaxy S22 series.

Introduced with the Galaxy S24 series earlier this year, the Galaxy AI features are now en route to some older models. These devices will get features like Browsing Assist, Call Assist, and generative AI-based photo editing features. These will arrive via the One UI 6.1 update.

Fortunately, these smartphones will receive almost all the Galaxy AI features available on the latest Galaxy S24. The only feature that won’t be rolling out to these devices is Instant Slo-Mo, which uses AI to fill in frames in a regular video and convert it into slow-motion footage. Samsung has confirmed that Galaxy AI features will begin rolling out to the aforementioned devices in early May 2024. The Galaxy 21 series could also have intuitive AI-based features, but the company hasn’t announced a particular timeline for the same.
