One of the best products we saw at Computex is on sale now: Lian Li’s PC power supply with an L-shaped design for easier cable management. The Edge PSU is meant for dual-chamber PC cases, which separate the components into distinct areas for a cleaner look and better airflow. The motherboard and cooling are usually installed in one chamber—where they can be proudly displayed—while the power supply and cabling are confined to another chamber, hidden from view.
First Look: Lian Li Unveils Revolutionary Power Supply, AIO Cooler Designs
To streamline cable management, Lian Li designed the Edge PSU with a shelf where modular PC connectors can be hooked up more easily, even after the PSU is installed on the PC. The unique design promises to reduce the hassle if you ever need to re-configure your PSU and the cabling. In addition, the Edge PSU features a four-port USB expansion hub “for seamless connectivity of RGB devices, fans, and controllers,” further reducing the number of cables needed to go to the motherboard, the company notes.Still, the unique L-shaped design may hinder the compatibility of the power supply. AnandTech reviewed the product and found that its 7.16-inch length might make it hard to fit in some dual-chamber PC cases.
