Soon you won’t have to leave Threads in order to check on the score of the big game.Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg made the announcement on Threads Friday. He said that the social network would be starting with NBA scores and has plans to add other leagues soon. The feature works similarly to how live scores currently work on Google and X. When you perform a search for a particular team on the site during a game, you’ll see an up-to-date score of where things stand. If you perform the search after the game has ended, Threads will instead display the final score. In addition to scores, the feature will also let you know when a game is happening, if you search before it starts.Much like the feature on Google and X, team logos for each team will be displayed along with the score. On Threads, if you tap on the team’s logo it will take you to a feed showing recent discussions about that team.

Earlier this week Threads added another feature popular on Twitter: Trending Topics. The app displays five topics that are popular on the social media site at any given time based on what people are talking about. Threads’ trending topics are curated by content specialists to ensure they meet the site’s guidelines, so they won’t be just anything.
