One year ago, the Panasonic Lumix S5 II appeared in the market as a continuation of Panasonic’s hybrid line of full-frame cameras, concretely the original S5. The Panasonic Lumix S5 II delivers in photography and video. Of course, the big news when the camera was released was the phase detect AF system. The usual Panasonic video tools are present: waveform monitor, zebras, the newly-added vector scope for monitoring, and a wide range of recording options. The new real-time LUT function allows users to bake custom LUTs into the footage directly in the camera. In photography, it can shoot up to 9 fps for up to 200 frames (Raw) or 300 frames (JPEG) using the mechanical shutter. With the electronic shutter, the camera can shoot up to 30 fps for up to 200 frames (Raw and JPEG).
