We are seeing a ton of distinct beauty trends in 2024 already, and we’re only a few months in! Some of these trends are reprisals of popular looks we’ve seen before, and others are doubling down on recent crazes.

Looking to dip your toe into these 2024 beauty trends? Here are drugstore makeup picks to help you get the looks.
Trend: Strong Blush
The 80s called, they want their blush back! Draping a strong layer of blush from the temples to the cheekbones is back, making statements in bold colors.

e.l.f. Camo Liquid Blush

This liquid blush from e.l.f. is extremely pigmented, one dot will give you a ton of color to work with. They last all day without fading or becoming patchy, and give a subtle glow to your skin without being all-out dewy. Read more.

NYX Sweet Cheeks Creamy Powder Blush

This powder blush has an extremely silky texture– almost cream-like– that sets into a smooth powder finish. It has strong color payoff that’s easy to layer.

Trend: Smudgy, Smoky Eyes
I, for one, am ecstatic about smoky eyes making a comeback (former emo kid here!). The lived in liner look is definitely the antithesis of the clean girl aesthetic that took over social media last year. See how I create the look in my Instagram tutorial.

essence Stay & Play Gel Eyeliner

The essence Stay & Play Gel Eyeliner is my absolute favorite to use for a smoky eyeliner. It’s super creamy and easy to smudge, but once it sets, it won’t budge. It’s a waterproof formula that will last all day. I love using Black Raven or But First, Espresso for this look.

NYX Epic Wear Liner Stick

If you want more color options for your smoky eye, check out the NYX Epic Wear Liner Stick, which comes in a huge variety of colors– including metallics!

Trend: Colorful Mascara
We’re starting to see a lot of our favorite drugstore mascaras release colorful versions of the beloved formulas. Two colors I’m seeing a lot of people try out: blue & burgundy!

ColourPop BFF Volumizing Mascara

Add buildable volume while lifting and lengthening with the BFF Volumizing Mascara, which is available in four colorful shades. My personal favorite is Blue Ya Mind.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky high Mascara

One of Maybelline’s most popular mascara formulas is now available in blue, burgundy, and pink. This mascara adds a ton of lift and length for maximum drama without the heavy feeling.

Trend: Glossy Skin
Call it glossy skin, glass skin, dewy skin… whatever name you use, it’s all about the glow. In 2024, we’re really leaning into making our complexion look glistening.

Milani Glow Drops Radiance Boosting Serum

This is a skin care/makeup hybrid that you can use as the last step to your makeup routine alone, or under foundation, to create a super dewy complexion. It contains Squalane, Hyaluronic Acid, and a coconut water electrolyte blend to give the skin a boost of hydration.

L’Oreal True Match Lumi Glotion

For less of a wet glowy look and more of a beaming glowy look, the Lumi Glotion has you covered in 5 different shades to work with all skin tones. I use this both as a foundation mix-in, or as a liquid highlight on top of my makeup.

Trend: Multichromes
Shifty, chromatic shades are taking over! Multichromes, also known as duochromes, are shades that appear to change color depending on how they reflect light. They often look metallic or sparkly.

The Lip Bar Shift Duo Chrome Liquid Eyeshadow

These intense liquid eyeshadows from The Lip Bar come in three duochrome shades. It sets quickly to feel dry to the touch, and lasts all day. Use it all over the lid, or pick up the shadow on a brush to use as a liquid liner!

ColourPop Multichrome BFF Creme Gel Liner

ColourPop’s BFF Creme Gel Liner is now available in multichrome shades that truly make an impact. This is a creamy waterproof formula with a metallic appearance and dramatic, contrasting color shifts.

Moira Beauty Chroma Light Shadows

These chrome eyeshadow singles are super versatile– apply them over a neutral primer for a subtle shift, or use a black eyeshadow base to seriously intensify the effect! See how it looks in my Instagram post here, and use code SLASHEDBEAUTY for 15% off!
