For 2023’s Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra, Samsung used only Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chips across all markets, which was an interesting departure from its usual strategy of splitting the world between its own Exynos chip and Qualcomm’s latest and greatest.
Exynos detractors (and there are many) celebrated, but then it seemed like the victory was going to be short lived. The S24 Ultra is still expected to only go with Snapdragon, but the S24 and S24+ were to once again have a split, with the Exynos 2400 in the mix in a lot of markets. Well, that may not be so, if a new rumor is to be believed.

According to a tipster over on X, the Galaxy S24+ will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC in most countries across the world. Only the ‘vanilla’ S24 will be stuck with the Exynos 2400, apparently.
Now, there are some rumors that we caution you about, and suggest taking them with a good dose of salt. This is one of those. There have already been plenty of reports saying both the S24 and the S24+ would get the Exynos 2400 in some markets, and this goes against that almost at the last minute (the official unveiling is taking place in 12 days).
Sure, a lot of people will be happy if this pans out (despite the Exynos 2400 not seeming like such a bad competitor to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3), but we wouldn’t pop the bubbly just yet. If this is true, then expect the most reliable leaksters out there to confirm it within the next few days. We’ll let you know what happens.
