Samsung recently put out one of their newsroom posts to reveal that three new Odyssey OLEDs are on their way. Time to start counting down to the OLED G6 release date, but how are the specs looking? Well, luckily, Samsung have revealed some of the key specs of this 27″ panel already – and it looks to be a top contender for one of the best 1440p monitors this year. Moving swiftly onto the specs, just what we all want to see. It looks like Samsung have expertly expanded their OLED range, so we’re no longer stuck with picking up a massive ultrawide display for this high-end panel type. Like we said, this is a more modest 27-inch display which will fit right in with any setup. Let’s take a look at all the specs we know so far as per Samsung’s announcement. We know about the core specs, so features are the next thing on the agenda. Not much is known just yet, but we should see the same quality we’ve got from the Odyssey range so far in terms of settings and on-screen-display. This G6 will benefit from OLED Glare-Free technology and be nicely ergonomic thanks to VESA mount compatibility as well as height, tilt, swivel, and pivot adjustability. Something lacking though would be the smart features – as Samsung have announced that they’ll instead be coming to the larger OLED G8 and G9 models. Samsung Smart TV and Gaming Hub features to be precise, as well as the new Multi Control feature. It’s the first time that Samsung have brought OLED to a 16:9 aspect ratio (alongside the new 4K 32″ OLED G8), and it features a flat screen within a metal design and Core Lighting+ thin bezels. The problem of burn-in has long been a worry for OLED monitors. While the display may suffer burn-in after long-time use in certain conditions, Samsung usually implement features to prevent (or at least minimize) this in their OLED displays.
