If you’ve always wanted to call one of your Twitter followers, you might soon have the chance. Last year, Twitter/X rolled out a new feature that allowed Premium users to make and receive audio and video calls on the platform, it’s now starting to make the feature available to non-Premium users as well.News of the decision was originally shared on X Friday by engineer Enrique Barragan.

The feature is baked into the social network’s direct messaging. While you can allow calling to be open like DMs and receive them from anyone and everyone, the site also offers a way for you to customize who can call you.To tweak those settings, go to Settings and Support > Settings and privacy > Privacy and safety > Direct messages. From there, you should see an “Allow audio and video calls from:” option where you can customize who is allowed to contact you. Options include people in your address book, people you follow, verified users, and everyone. If you’d rather not have anyone calling you via the social network, you can also toggle the feature off from that same menu.

If you decide to accept calls, they will come through on your phone similar to a traditional call, and will display the caller’s name, or at least the name they provide to X, on your lock screen.
