If you love more natural, lightweight foundation coverage in the Summer months, maybe you need a nice skin tint. Trust me, there are plenty to choose from. But what if you want a budget-friendly one? Well, I got one for you, and it’s under $9! It’s the new Wet n Wild Bare Focus Niacinamide Skin Tint, which gives you sheer-to-medium coverage with a natural finish. Plus, it contains 5% niacinamide and hyaluronic acid, too!
I happen to be a big fan of ILIA’s Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40, and it’s my go-to in both warmer and cooler weather. However, I’m always on the lookout for new skin tints to try. Lightweight, natural coverage was really on trend this Spring, and I hope it continues into the Summer. I love lightweight, serum-like foundations that brighten and even out the complexion without looking heavy or cakey.
Wet n Wild Bare Focus Niacinamide Skin Tint fits the bill perfectly for those warm days when you want natural coverage. This tint arrives in a glass dropper bottle that’s 1.08 oz in size and will set you back $6.98 to $8.99, depending on where you purchase it. The idea of the product is it acts as both a foundation and a skincare with ingredients like niacinamide that acts to brighten skin and smooth the texture of it while hyaluronic acid plumps and helps it to retain moisture. I’m not a huge fan of hybrid foundation/skincare products, as I never know if they benefit my skin. That being said I do appreciate the good for my skin ingredients considering I wear foundation for eight or more hours a day so why not have something good in the formula.
This is a lightweight serum-like consistency that has a surprising amount of pigment. It’s light and slightly runny but applies and blends very easily. It isn’t greasy nor oily but is lightly hydrating and feels refreshing and cool. It sets to a soft, semi-satin finish. According to Wet n Wild, it has a satiny glow finish, but I didn’t get a glow from it, which I’m okay with as I wouldn’t say I like glowy foundations.
This applies like a dream. It’s super easy to blend, and it glides on like butter. I use my fingers, but you can use a sponge or a brush. You can even apply a few drops to your moisturizer to sheer it out for a more tinted moisturizer experience. Whatever your technique, you won’t have any issues with it blending out to a natural finish. It’s lightly hydrating, as I said, so it looks smooth without adhering to drier areas and it should be just as lovely on textured skin. The wear time is surprisingly good for a hydrating foundation, which lasts around seven hours, even on a hot day! One thing you have to be aware of is that the color range is a bit odd. I got the shades Light Medium Sand and Light Medium, and one was too yellow and the other a bit too peach.
